At the foot hills facing the ancient town of Cortona, the agriturismo Podere Ossaia offers guests an agreeable sojourn amidst vines and olive groves. Podere Ossaia has 2 adjacent apartments, Melograno (Pomegranate) and Uva (Grape) and a separate flat, Girasole (Sunflower), all recently renovated and equipped with its own locally controlled air conditioning and heating. From the swimming pool one can enjoy a splendid panorama of the surrounding countryside and medieval Cortona. The flats are composed of bedroom, bathroom and sitting room with kitchenette and measure 60-65 square meters (540-585 square feet).

Podere Ossaia is located near the major roads to Arezzo, Perugia, Assisi, Florence, Siena, Montepulciano and Orvieto, which along with other charming lesser known towns, are not more than an hour's drive away. Cortona offers an ample array of restaurants and trattorias offering local and Tuscan cuisine and wines.

Situated on a hill overlooking the Valdichiana, Cortona vaunts a millennia-long history. Girded by monumental walls, it was one of the 12 members of the ancient Etruscan league of city-states. Absorbed into the Roman state it later re-found its past position of importance in the late Middle Ages, when towns emerged and broke the feudal power of the landed nobility. The present appeareance of Cortona dates from this period and is typified by splendid noble residencies and by the Palazzo Comunale (town hall). The town museums offer unique Etruscan artifacts and medieval and Renaissance paintings.
